i am now a resident of the pacific northwest.
i realized upon my arrival and subsequent semi-unpacking that i just relocated from a place where i had so many closets that i had lots of empty space and not enough stuff (1248 n. broad st, north philadelphia) to a place where hangers don’t even fit in the closet and i have no place to put my minimal amount of stuff (1637 23rd ave, seattle).
wtf?
tomorrow i embark on a quest for
1) good coffee— most important and probably easiest to find
2) furniture — free and/or delivered to my doorstep seeing as i have no means of transportation or hauling.
3) employment —should be #1 but…isn’t.
4) new friends!

today i was in lancaster.
i watered the plants and spent some money and drank coffee but only in the company of various people who are my peers, and not alone like i usually do. i wrote thank you cards to people i have never met.
“dear scott and gay, thanks for the money. i used it to pay my gas bill. post-college life is squalid. sincerely, julia”
i finally bought a ticket for the move. my mom got some too. she’s going on vacation. or coming on vacation.
it took a lot of coaxing to get her to take a plane, and to come with me, and not put it off and she launched into a few tirades about waiting and spontaneity and whatever. i think i might need some sedatives for the journey (for her) so if anyone knows where i can get some that would be helpful.
i wanted to open the weed pants link in another tab but then i decided to reblog it instead and now i am regretting following tao lin’s blog because there are too many posts and i couldn’t find anyone else’s stuff. i realized that “hammerhead sharks” is abbreviated the same way as the high school we both went to. i wonder if jose has thought about this.
i am guessing that i didn’t get that internship because i have been harassing the interviewer and i haven’t heard from him. maybe it’s because i harassed him that i didn’t get it. either way it’s no good.
